I found this place by chance, and it is absolutely worth a visit. The art work is just beautiful. If you are going on a hot day, take water and spray some insect repellant all over you. If you have babies, better not take a pram even though there are paved paths, but there are some places where you can't get to with the pram. Just take a baby carrier. The parking is down the road of the sanctuary, so you have to be careful while crossing the road. Friendly staff and there's even a baby changing room. Worth a visit if you're into art and wilderness.

Was a little chilly. Being in the forest, its a lot colder than outside it. Bring a jumper. Otherwise quite interesting!

A contemplative and moving experience - be invited into the secret quiet world that we so recently displaced. Noble statues and cast figures blend into the woodland shadows and offer a glmpse into the oldest society on earth. The thrill seeker may be dissapointed.

Parking is across a busy road but worth the short walk to William Ricketts Sanctuary. Staff are friendly & helpful. Artwork is amazing, especially surrounded with forest setting. His passion for aboriginal people & his spirituality shines through. Loved it

Just to enjoy the surroundings is magical! He did more than 80 carvings, displayed all over the sanctuary. Make sure you watch the videos. The ground is small, but worth spending one hour here. I find the video particularly insightful. He brought out the best from the lyrebirds that not many can. I marvel at his level of respect from the lyrebirds! Lyrebirds are Australia’s magical bird! Only a lucky few can see them lurking at dusk or dawn in the bush - mimicking other birds and sounds of surrounds. The sounds of chainsaw is famously noted. They run away each time I come close! This man could make the lyrebird dance and displayed its feathers! Wow! Makes me more determined! A new cafe just opened next to the carpark! Check it out!! Hope it helps
